The South-Eastern Metropolitan Region takes in Melbourne suburbs radiating to the south and south-east of the city, including the bayside suburbs from Mentone to Frankston, and the fast-growing outer south-east centered on Dandenong, Narre Warren, Berwick and Cranbourne. It is generally a low-income area, taking in the manufacturing corridor that runs from Clayton to Dandenong, and is also a settlement centre for immigrants from Vietnam, Cambodia, India and other Asian countries. Labor has become increasingly dominant in this area as population density has increased. Of the eleven lower-house seats that make up the Region, the Liberals hold only Berwick and Rowville.

In 2022 Labor won two seats, and the Liberals one. The Greens failed to win a seat owing to the vagaries of the group ticket voting system. Instead, the Libertarian and Legalise Cannabis parties won seats, despite having lower primary votes. With the abolition of that system, the most likely result is Labor two, Liberals two and Greens one.

No Labor or One Nation candidates have yet been announced. I am assuming all sitting members are recontesting.
