Eureka was created at the 2021 redistricting, when Buninyong was renamed. Buninyong in turn was created in 2014, when Ballarat East was renamed. It now includes the fast-growing town of Bacchus Marsh as well as the eastern half of Ballarat. It is less urban than Wendouree, and is heavily monocultural, with few graduates or high-income houseolds. Its first member is Michaela Settle (Labor), who was member for Buninyong from 2018 to 2022.
