Sunbury was created in 2014, and has been held by Labor's Josh Bull since its creation. Sunbury is a fast-growing satellite town and getting stronger for Labor as it grows. Like most fringe-urban seats, it has many young families paying off mortgages, but no significant ethnic minorities. Gladstone Park and Tullamarine at the southern end of the seat are solidly Labor.
