    Division of Hasluck

Hasluck was created at the 2001 redistribution, in Perth's fast-growing outer eastern suburbs. Although it has the high proportion of dwellings being purchased typical of outer suburban seats, it has a lower rate of families with dependent children than is usual for such seats, and cannot be classed as a pure mortgage belt seat as a result. It has a low proportion of non English speaking households, and a very low proportion of people in professional and managerial occupations.

Ken Wyatt defeated Labor's Sharryn Jackson in 2010, increased his majority in 2013, survived a 3.9% swing to Labor in 2016, and improved his majority in 2019. He was originally a teacher, then became manager of Aboriginal Education in the WA Department of Education. He was later Director of Aboriginal Health in both NSW and WA. He was the first Indigenous person to win a seat in the House of Representatives. He was appointed an assistant minister in 2015 and Minister for Indigenous Australians and a member of Cabinet in May 2019. He was the first Indigenous Australian to be a federal minister. None of this was enough to save Wyatt from the swing to Labor in WA at the 2022 election.

Tania Lawrence, Labor MP for Hasluck since 2022, was a business owner and former senior policy adviser to the WA Premier before her election. Her position has been improved by the 2024 redistribution, which has removed all the Liberal-voting rural areas of the seat and extended it westwards to take in Labor-inclined Bassendean and Morley. Even so, the large swings to Labor in WA in 2022 were largely due to state issues, particularly arising from the COVID pandemic. This means that the Labor majority in Hasluck is probably over-stated.
