* PPP – Pakistan People’s Party
* PPP(S) - Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao)

* The “N” in PML(N) stands for opposition leader Nawaz Sharif.
* The “Q” in PML(Q) stands for Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader), a reference  
to Mohammad Ali Jinnah, leader of the original PML. This is the party of  
President Pervez Musharraf. The PPP(S) is a breakaway from the PPP led by 
Aftab Sherpao.
