UNION OF THE COMOROS LEGISLATIVE ELECTION OF JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2020 ===================================================================== Elections to the Assemblée Fédérale (Federal assembly) Sources: Commission Électorale Nationale Indépendante The Federal Assembly of the Union of the Comoros consists of 33 members. Of these, 24 are elected directly from single-member constituencies. The remaining nine are chosen by the legislatures of the three islands which constitute the Union: Anjouan, Mwali and Ngazidja (Grande Comore), with three being chosen from each island. The 19 candidates who polled 50% of the vote in the first round on 19 January were elected. In the other five constituencies, where no candidate polled 50% of the vote, a second round of voting was held on 23 February.
