Labor retained Bellarine, Monbulk, Wendouree and Yan Yean, which had been made notionally Liberal by the redistribution, and gained Bentleigh, Carrum, Frankston and Mordialloc from the Liberals. The Greens gained Melbourne from Labor and Prahran from the Liberals. An independent gained Shepparton from The Nationals. The Nationals also lost a seat as a result of the redistribution.
