VICTORIA ==================================================================== LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ==================================================================== THE FORTY-SECOND PARLIAMENT ELECTED 15 JULY 1961 ==================================================================== Showing ministerial and parliamentary offices held in the period 15 July 1961 to 27 June 1964 Voting figures are taken from Colin A Hughes and B D Graham, "Voting for the Victoria Legislative Assembly 1890-1964," ANU Press 1975. Candidates' given names are taken from "The Age." Henry Bolte's Liberal government was again comfortably re-elected at this election. The LCP vote share fell slightly, but the LCP gained one seat from Labor (Oakleigh) and one from the CP (Ballarat North). The key to the LCP's success was the DLP vote, which both rose (by 2.6%) and flowed more tightly to the LCP as preferences. One sitting Liberal was re-elected as an independent after losing his endorsement, but later rejoined the LCP.
