TASMANIA ==================================================================== HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ==================================================================== THE SECOND PARLIAMENT ELECTED MAY-JUNE 1861 ==================================================================== The Second Parliament was opened on 16 August 1861 and was dissolved on 21 October 1862 Sources -------------------------------------------------------------------- Newspaper reports, Tasmanian Parliament website Summary -------------------------------------------------------------------- This election produced a somewhat more stable parliamentary majority than had the first election in 1856. William Weston retired as Premier after the election and was succeeded by Thomas Chapman. His ministry survived until October 1862, when it was defeated on a taxation measure. Chapman then obtained an early dissolution. VOTING BY CONSTITUENCY ==================================================================== I have not located a list showing the number of enrolled voters in each district for this election.
