Election declared void 25 November 1992 (no By-election held) Later career: See Wills 1993 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Sykes challenged the result of the by-election on the grounds that Cleary, as a teacher employed by the Victorian government, held an office of profit under the Crown at the time he nominated, and that both Kardamitsis (born in Greece) and Delacretaz (born in Switzerland) had failed to renounce any claim to foreign citizenship. The High Court upheld all three complaints and declared the result void.
